Erasmus+ and European projects
For Solidarität Europa, implementing European funding programmes – Erasmus+ first among them – is not an add-on: it is anchored in § 2 of our statutes as one of the ways we pursue our purpose.
Our experience
The association is young; the practice behind it is not. Our team has been continuously involved in Erasmus+ projects for years and knows the programme from almost every angle:
- youth exchanges (KA152) and mobility of youth workers (KA153),
- small-scale and cooperation partnerships (KA210, KA220),
- European Solidarity Corps volunteering,
- Erasmus study and traineeship mobility.
This experience – as trainers, facilitators, project managers, group leaders, mentors, volunteers and participants – is our quality benchmark: we know from the inside what a good preparation phase, a good learning programme and a good Youthpass process look like – and what a badly planned project costs the participants.
Our approach
- A reliable sending partner. We take on participant recruitment and preparation in Berlin's highly diverse youth communities – deliberately reaching young people with a migration history who are rarely reached by a generic open call.
- A hosting organisation. Berlin works in our favour: through members and local cooperation partners we can arrange seminar and workshop spaces – from neighbourhood community centres to the venues of partner initiatives – and the city's transport links and affordable group accommodation make it a practical base for international activities.
- A coordinating organisation. On this foundation, we aim to coordinate our own projects in the medium term – step by step, at a pace that allows for quality.
What we contribute as a partner
- recruitment, selection and preparation of participants in Berlin,
- experienced group leaders and facilitators for international activities,
- professional-grade digital skills for documentation, evaluation and dissemination,
- access to young people with a migration history and fewer opportunities,
- an experienced group leader and a named back-up contact for every international activity, so partners always have someone reachable.
