Our formats in Berlin
Five regular formats form the core of our local work. Participation is free of charge; an informal e-mail is all it takes to sign up.
Intercultural meet-up
Monthly · open to everyone
An open get-together with no fixed programme: people from Berlin's international communities and long-time locals talk over coffee and tea. No lecture, no sign-up sheet at the door – just come by and meet people you would otherwise never have crossed paths with.
German through play – language game nights
Regular · all levels welcome
Vocabulary doesn't grow from word lists – it grows from use. At our game nights, German learners train their vocabulary through word and board games, mixed with native speakers, with plenty of laughter and zero exam pressure.
Film nights with a purpose
Regular · film + discussion
We screen films that grapple with something – migration, cohesion, European history – and hold a moderated conversation afterwards. The film is the occasion; the conversation afterwards is the real event.
News in Dialogue
Regular · open to everyone
We watch a news segment together – for example from rbb or another public-service broadcaster – or read a newspaper article, and then discuss it as a group. Germans and people with a migration history share their perspectives on current events. The aim is to strengthen media literacy and active citizenship, and to foster intercultural dialogue on the issues shaping society.
Finding your way in Berlin – mentoring

If you are new to Berlin, you can easily lose weeks on things that take an afternoon with the right person beside you: government offices, registrations, the education system, the first flat search. Our multilingual mentors guide newcomers through exactly these hurdles – in Russian, Slovak, Arabic, Azerbaijani, Czech or Turkish if you prefer.
